Historical Weapons

Weapons have always exerted a fascination on people and trigges a range of emotions from childlike enthusiasm to disgust in todays viewer. Weapons used to fight other people and as tools for hunting were a status of power. In this role, they were often elaborately decorated and today have become valued as works of art. These ancient weapons are always historical sources: as a reminder of traditions from the past, they can also draw conclusions about the way people lived at the time they were made. This look back can help us better understand our often less-violent past. For these reasons the GEEhW wants to make a contribution.
